May – September 2026
Venice, 7th May 2026 – As part of the European Cultural Centre programme at Palazzo Bembo, artist Rita Sabo presents Unison: The Fusion of High Cultures , during the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Tayfun Belgin.
The exhibition unfolds as an immersive, multi-sensory environment combining painting, sculpture, sound, video, and scent. Unison: The Fusion of High Cultures explores cultural memory, simultaneity, and planetary responsibility beyond linear history and hierarchical narratives.
In Sabo’s artistic universe, eight high cultures—including Sumerian, Ancient Egyptian, Mayan, Celtic, and Buddhist traditions—coexist with mythical and cosmic realms. Past, present, and future are presented as simultaneous, forming a living field of resonance rather than a chronological archive.
December 14, 2024 to January 12, 2025
Opening: Friday, December 13, 2024, 5:30 PM
Following exhibitions at the historic Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana on St. Mark’s Square in Venice, the prominent MAXXI Museum in Rome, and the renowned Ludwig Museum in Koblenz, internationally acclaimed artist Rita Sabo is now presenting her work in a solo exhibition in Munich for the first time.
The works of this multidisciplinary artist originate in the symbolism of various historical eras, which she reinterprets within a contemporary context.
Under the title “Sacred Planet”, sculptures and partially large-scale paintings will be on display at the Bavarian National Museum, including many new pieces created by Sabo specifically for this exhibition.
The exhibition is supported and organized by the Association for Art in Public and takes place as part of the #Art4GlobalGoals activation campaign, in cooperation with the YOU Foundation – Education for Children in Need, which maintains official relations with UNESCO.
18.11.2023 – 07.01.2024

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals set by the United Nations in 2015 to make this planet a better place for all. At the #Art4GlobalGoals awareness campaign exhibition at UNESCO headquarters, visitors had the opportunity to explore, understand and internalise the global Sustainable Development Goals through art. Each of the 17 (+1) sculptures created for this purpose, labelled “Sacred Planet”, appears as a centrepiece of the artwork. Together they create a visual symphony that creates an atmosphere of reflection on our common future.

The exhibition “Sacred Planet” opened on Friday, 23 June 2023, parallel to the 18th Biennale Architettura 2023, in the Sale Monumentali of the historic Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana in Venice. On display were eleven large-format paintings and an impressive sculpture depicting the “Sacred Planet” as such. The works combine with the opulent rooms of the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana in an enigmatic setting full of vibrant colours and dimensions. Viennese artist Rita Sabo presents twelve paintings and eighteen sculptures showing the seventeen sustainable development goals of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations, with the aim of raising awareness of the urgency of its implementation. In terms of both content and form, Sabo’s exhibited works revolve around the theme of sustainability, with the Earth as a sacred and therefore untouchable planet at the centre. Sabo’s kaleidoscopic, colourful works, which are composed of geometric shapes and ancient symbols, celebrate life.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is the sculpture ‘Sacred Planet’, a meaningful symbol created by Rita Sabo, which shows the dignity and inviolability of the Earth in the form of a planet. It is surrounded by two rings that symbolise the continuous flow of energy. In this way, she expresses her vision of holistic, global sustainability. She has thus created a contemporary symbol with great relevance and topicality. The ‘Sacret Planet’ appears in seventeen versions in a fleet of different colours that correspond exactly to the colours of the 17 sustainability goals of Agenda-2030.
